Hyderabad Police Draw Criticism After Video Shows Zepto Delivery Partner's Bike Seized

A video showing a Zepto delivery partner pleading with Hyderabad traffic police after his motorcycle was seized has triggered widespread criticism across social media platforms.
The incident reportedly occurred in Hyderabad on Friday while the delivery worker was in the middle of fulfilling a customer order. The motorcycle was seized by enforcement officials after it was found parked on the roadside.
According to video footage circulating online, the delivery partner requested the traffic police personnel to let him complete his delivery before any action was taken against his vehicle. During the interaction, he explained that his family was facing a medical emergency.
"Please, sir, I will deliver the order and leave. My wife is in the hospital," the delivery worker was heard saying to the officials in the video.
Despite his appeals, traffic police personnel proceeded to tow the two-wheeler and allegedly directed the delivery worker to come to the police station to retrieve it.
The video captured the delivery partner attempting to stop the moving towing vehicle while continuing to plead with the personnel inside. At one point in the clip, an official opened the door of the towing vehicle and appeared to push the delivery worker away as the vehicle continued on its way.
The circulation of the clip prompted sharp reactions from social media users, who raised concerns regarding the manner in which the enforcement was carried out. Several people questioned whether the situation could have been handled with greater sensitivity after the worker mentioned his wife's hospitalisation.
Commenters also criticised the conduct of the personnel involved, accusing them of showing little regard for the delivery partner's circumstances and questioning whether traffic rules could be enforced without disrupting the livelihood of gig workers.
