Hyderabad Police Book Two New Cases Against Gold Man Surya Bhai

The police in the Attapur and Narayanguda jurisdictions of Hyderabad registered two fresh cases against self-styled "Gold Man" Surya Bhai on June 26, 2026, following a Rs 32 lakh cheating allegation and an inquiry into an allegedly false police complaint.
The cheating case was initiated after a complainant identified as Chari approached the police to report the fraud. According to the police, Chari accused Surya Bhai of collecting Rs 32 lakh from him. Surya Bhai had reportedly assured Chari that he would supply gold ornaments in exchange for the substantial sum of money. However, the promised jewellery was never delivered to the complainant, prompting him to seek legal action.
Since the alleged transaction occurred within the jurisdictional limits of the Narayanguda police station, the Attapur police registered a Zero FIR. This allowed the Attapur police to initiate the process before transferring the case to the Narayanguda police station, which will now handle the ongoing investigation into the cheating allegations.
In a separate legal development, the Attapur police have decided to register another case against Surya Bhai for allegedly lodging a false complaint. This decision was made after police officials conducted an inquiry into a complaint previously filed by Surya Bhai.
The official inquiry revealed that the allegations made by Surya Bhai in his prior complaint were completely unsubstantiated. As a result of these findings, the police initiated legal action against him for providing false information to law enforcement authorities.
The Attapur police confirmed that Surya Bhai has not been arrested in connection with either of the two cases. The investigation into the Rs 32 lakh cheating case will be carried out by the Narayanguda police as they look further into the transaction details.
