Hyderabad Police Book Cases After RCB Fans Vandalise Property Near NTR Ghat

The Hyderabad police have registered cases against several individuals who allegedly created a nuisance and damaged public property near the Telangana Secretariat and NTR Ghat in Hyderabad. The incident occurred on Sunday night during celebrations following Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
A large crowd of supporters had gathered near the Secretariat and NTR Ghat to celebrate RCB's win over the Gujarat Titans. However, the gathering turned disruptive when several individuals, who were allegedly drunk, began vandalising police barricades and other vehicles in the area.
In response to the escalating situation, police personnel resorted to a lathi charge to disperse the crowd and restore order. The commotion and subsequent police action led to widespread attention online, as multiple videos of the mob damaging public property went viral on social media platforms, drawing criticism from various quarters.
Following the incident, a senior Hyderabad police official confirmed that formal cases have been booked against the individuals responsible for the vandalism. Authorities are currently analyzing footage from local surveillance cameras and reviewing the videos circulated on social media to identify the perpetrators.
The police stated that arrests will be made once the individuals involved in the disturbance are successfully identified.
