Hyderabad police arrest interstate offender Bruce Lee and three others in Chilkalguda

The Hyderabad police on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, arrested a notorious interstate property offender, Darla Nehemiah, also known as "Bruce Lee," along with two associates and a juvenile in connection with a robbery case in Chilkalguda.
According to law enforcement officials, the primary accused, Darla Nehemiah, is a highly active offender who has been linked to a total of 65 criminal cases across three states, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. His extensive criminal record includes serious charges such as robbery, burglary, theft, murder, and attempt to murder.
The police revealed that Nehemiah had previously been detained under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act. However, his detention did not deter his criminal pursuits. Immediately after his release from prison in June, he allegedly returned to a life of crime.
Upon his release, Nehemiah reportedly recruited fellow offenders to form a new gang. The newly formed gang targeted a labourer in the Secunderabad area. The gang members assaulted the labourer, robbed him of his possessions, and subsequently abandoned him at a different location.
Following a swift investigation into the Chilkalguda robbery case, the police successfully apprehended Nehemiah, his two associates, and the juvenile accomplice. During the operation, officers recovered several items associated with their criminal activities.
The seized property includes the victim's stolen mobile phone and the scooter that the gang used to commit the robbery. Additionally, the police recovered Rs 2.25 lakh in cash, which officials have linked to a separate theft case.
Beyond the Chilkalguda robbery, police officials noted that Nehemiah remains a key suspect in multiple other ongoing investigations. He is currently wanted in connection with separate burglary and theft cases registered at both the Alwal and Meerpet police stations.
