Hyderabad Marks Independence Day with 500-Metre Tricolour Rally in Shaikpet

Hyderabad celebrated Independence Day with widespread rallies, community gatherings, and cultural events across the city, including programmes in Shaikpet, Surya Nagar Colony near Jubilee Hills, and Tank Bund.

In Shaikpet, school students participated in a spirited Tiranga rally, marching together with a massive 500-metre-long tricolour. As the students moved along the stretch, the road was transformed into a sweeping sea of saffron, white, and green.

Celebrations in Surya Nagar Colony near Jubilee Hills featured a major community gathering, where thousands of residents from surrounding colonies came together to mark the occasion. The organisers held a mega health camp offering free medical consultations, health services, and medicines. Sports and cultural programmes were also conducted as part of the festivities.

At Tank Bund, students, families, and automobile dealers joined the celebrations, carrying the national flag as they moved along the Hussain Sagar stretch.

Across the city, people took to the streets on foot and on bicycles, while schoolchildren marched with flags and families joined neighbourhood celebrations across both busy roads and residential colonies.
