Hyderabad Heroes and Mumbai Dreamers Secure Rugby Premier League Victories

The second day of the HSBC Rugby Premier League powered by Avid Season 2 witnessed hosts Hyderabad Heroes and Mumbai Dreamers register crucial victories at the Gachibowli GMC Balayogi Stadium on Wednesday. The wins strengthened both teams' positions in the ongoing competition.
Looking to bounce back from their opening defeat, the Hyderabad Heroes made a flying start through Sumit Kumar and Maurice Longbottom. Despite sustained pressure from the Delhi Redz, Taitaifono Tavita extended the Heroes’ advantage before Luciano Gonzalez and Javed Hussain brought the Redz back into the contest. Tavita struck again in the second half, while Patrick Odongo kept Delhi in the hunt. However, Wolfram Hacker’s late try sealed the victory for the Heroes.
In the other men's fixture, the Mumbai Dreamers applied heavy pressure on the Bravehearts early in the game to gain territory. Although the Bravehearts withstood the initial pressure, Lucas Mignot sprinted from end to end to open the scoring with a try for the Dreamers. Guillaume Bouche backed it up with another try for the Dreamers at the end of the first quarter.
After sustaining pressure throughout the third quarter, the Bravehearts managed to score a try through Motu Opeta at the end of the period to open their account. However, James Turner picked up a loose ball and blazed over the line to put the Dreamers firmly in the driving seat and secure the win.
Later in the day, the women were scheduled to take the field for two matches between Chennai Bulls and Kolkata Banga Tigers, and Delhi Redz and Mumbai Dreamers. These fixtures were to be followed by the final clash of the day between the men’s franchises, Chennai Bulls and Kolkata Banga Tigers.
