Hyderabad Heroes and Delhi Redz Secure Rugby Wins at GMC Balayogi Stadium

On Thursday, the GMC Balayogi Stadium in Hyderabad hosted a series of decisive matches in the HSBC Rugby Premier League, where the Chennai Bulls secured a semifinal berth after a 14-14 draw with the Bengaluru Bravehearts, and the hosts Hyderabad Heroes alongside Delhi Redz secured crucial victories.

In the first key matchup, the Chennai Bulls managed to qualify for the semifinals following their hard-fought draw against the Bengaluru Bravehearts.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Redz knocked the Kolkata Banga Tigers out of the tournament with a 40-28 victory. The Redz started strong, building patient attacks before Nygel Amaitsa opened the scoring. Samuel Asati and Josep Serres quickly added tries, and Hitesh Dagar extended the lead as Delhi dominated possession and territory.

With their semifinal hopes hanging in the balance, the Kolkata Banga Tigers responded before half-time through Vuiviwa Naduvalo. After the break, Serres scored again for Delhi, but Naduvalo kept Kolkata in the game with two brilliant individual tries in the third quarter. Jon Okeyo restored Delhi's lead in the final period, and despite another try from Naduvalo, the Redz maintained their composure to secure the win.

In another match, the hosts Hyderabad Heroes dominated the Mumbai Dreamers with a commanding 33-0 victory. The Heroes controlled the game with swift ball movement and aggressive defensive pressure. Manuel Moreno opened the scoring after a well-worked move, and Taitaifono Tavita exploited space out wide to add another try.

The Heroes continued to dominate territory in the second quarter, with Tavita crossing over again from the left wing and Francisco Cosculluela capitalizing on sustained pressure as Mumbai struggled to retain possession.

Although the Dreamers tightened their defense in the third quarter, Hyderabad maintained control through possession and field position. Ravuama Seruvakula broke through to score in the final quarter, sealing the shutout victory for the Heroes.
