Hyderabad Gears Up for Milad-un-Nabi With Procession and Welfare Drives

Preparations for Milad-un-Nabi, marking the birthday of Prophet Mohammed, have gained momentum across Hyderabad with blood donation camps, welfare initiatives, and religious gatherings planned across several localities, including Vijayanagar Colony and Afzalgunj.

As part of the lead-up to the celebrations, a blood donation camp was held at Vijayanagar Colony on Sunday, drawing local participation. Similar community welfare programmes are scheduled at various venues across the city in the coming days, including an event at the Asafia Library in Afzalgunj.

Religious congregations are also scheduled to take place at mosques and auditoriums throughout the city. Meanwhile, the Markazi Milad Juloos Committee is coordinating arrangements and obtaining required clearances and permissions from authorities for the central Milad procession, scheduled for August 26.

According to committee members, the central procession route will remain identical to last year's route. The procession is slated to commence following Zohar afternoon prayers at the historic Mecca Masjid. It will proceed through Gulzar Houz, Madina Building, Salar Jung Museum, Darul Shifa, Purani Haveli, Kotla Alijah, and Bibi Bazaar before concluding near Volta Hotel.

In addition, arrangements are underway for the annual Jalsa Rahmatulil Alameen, organised by the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) on the eve of Milad-un-Nabi. The public meeting will feature Islamic scholars representing different sects and schools of thought, who will address the gathering on the life and teachings of Prophet Mohammed.
