Hyderabad Court Sentences Man to 5 Years in Jail for Selling Ganja Chocolates

A local court at the LB Nagar court complex in Hyderabad has sentenced a 42-year-old Bihar native to five years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 for selling ganja-laced chocolates.

The convict, identified as Rabindra Behara, was sentenced on Monday by Additional District and Sessions Judge M Vani after the court found him guilty following the trial.

The case dates back to 2019, when the Prohibition and Excise Department booked Behara for allegedly selling chocolates laced with ganja in Shamshabad.

Following the pronouncement of the verdict, Behara was taken into custody and sent to prison to serve his sentence.
