Hyderabad Cafes Introduce New Zealand Style Real Fruit Ice Cream

Hyderabad dessert lovers have embraced a new culinary trend as New Zealand-style real fruit ice cream gains popularity across the city. By June 3, 2026, local parlors including Et-Si, Snowberry, and Amy’s Cafe have begun serving the treat, which blends fresh fruits directly into vanilla ice cream.

The dessert concept, which originated in New Zealand's fruit farms and cafes, offers a fresh alternative to conventional ice creams. The preparation involves whirring fresh strawberries, ripe mangoes, and colorful berry swirls into creamy scoops of vanilla ice cream.

Unlike traditional ice creams that rely on syrups and artificial flavorings, this method focuses on the natural flavor, sweetness, and texture of real fruits. The result is a smooth, creamy dessert where the fruit takes center stage rather than acting as a simple flavoring.

Vikas Agarwal, co-founder of Et-Si, stated that the concept stood out because it offers an interactive and visually appealing experience for the city's cafe audience, moving beyond standard dessert offerings.

A key part of the appeal is the customizable nature of the dessert. At Et-Si and Snowberry, customers can experiment with different fruit combinations to create their own unique flavors. Popular options currently being ordered include Coconut Lychee, Chatpata Jamun, Mixed Berries, Raspberry Mudslide, and Peanut Butter Apple. Meanwhile, Amy's Cafe offers seasonal flavors, including Pinachikki, which is a pina colada-inspired blend with chikki.

Local consumers have welcomed both the freshness and the transparency of the preparation process. Sakshi Rochania, a student in Hyderabad, noted that the fresh-blended process allows customers to see exactly what goes into their dessert. She added that the New Zealand-style fresh fruit ice cream is perfect for those who want a lighter and more natural dessert option.

The live blending process, vibrant colors, and use of real fruit have drawn significant attention across the Hyderabad cafe scene this summer, appealing to dessert lovers seeking lighter, fruit-forward treats.
