Hyderabad Beats Mumbai and Delhi in Obsession Movie Box Office Collections

Hyderabad has emerged as a major hub for the movie 'Obsession', with the city's box office collections surpassing those of major metropolitan areas like Mumbai and Delhi. According to theatrical performance data published on June 1, 2026, the film has found a highly receptive audience in the Telangana capital, making it one of the top-performing territories in the country.
During its theatrical run, 'Obsession' accumulated a total gross of approximately Rs 1.6 Crore from both the Telugu States. The vast majority of this revenue was generated within Hyderabad, where the film collected an impressive Rs 1.32 Crore. This concentrated performance highlights the city's dominant role in driving the film's regional box office success, leaving only a small fraction of the regional earnings to be collected outside the capital.
On a national level, Hyderabad secured the position of the second-highest grossing city in India for 'Obsession'. It was only outperformed by Bengaluru, which registered the highest collection in the country at Rs 1.48 Crore.
Significantly, Hyderabad's performance eclipsed that of India's largest traditional box office markets, Mumbai and Delhi. The film's earnings in Hyderabad were not only higher than those in Mumbai but also more than double the total collections recorded in Delhi. This achievement highlights a shifting trend in theatrical engagement, where southern metropolitan centers like Bengaluru and Hyderabad are increasingly outpacing their northern counterparts for specific film releases.
The strong turnout in Hyderabad underscores the robust cinema-going culture in the city, where audiences continue to support theatrical releases in large numbers. With Rs 1.32 Crore in the bank from Hyderabad alone, 'Obsession' has cemented its status as a notable success in the local market.
