Hyderabad Athlete Bikash Karar Selected for World Masters Athletics in Daegu

Veteran athlete Bikash Karar from Hyderabad has been selected to represent India at the upcoming World Masters Athletics Championships in Daegu, scheduled to take place from August 22 to September 3.

Karar, who serves as the Chairman of the Athletic Coaching Academy in Hyderabad, will be competing in the 50 years and above category. His events include the 200 metres, 400 metres, and the 400 metres hurdles.

He has been preparing for the international competition under the guidance of Prof. Rajesh Kumar, Senior Professor and Head of the Department of Physical Education at Osmania University.

This is not Karar's first time competing on the global stage. The Hyderabad veteran has previously represented the country in World Masters Athletics championships held across multiple nations, including Finland, the United States, France, and Brazil.

Karar will join fellow master athletes from across the globe in Daegu as he contends for medals across sprint and hurdle events in the 50-plus division.
