Hyderabad Ahead of Schedule on Target of 100 New GCCs, Says CM Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad is witnessing a significant expansion of its global corporate presence as Telangana progresses ahead of schedule on its target of attracting 100 new Global Capability Centres (GCCs) to the city this year, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced on Monday, September 21.
In a post published on social media on Monday, the Chief Minister stated that over the past two years, the state administration has actively facilitated the establishment of major operational bases in Hyderabad by several multinational companies across diverse sectors. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy attributed this corporate influx and transformation directly to what he described as "purposeful governance and decisive execution" by his government.
Highlighting the international corporations expanding their footprint in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister cited entertainment majors Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery. He also pointed to global beauty and cosmetics company L’Oréal, healthcare firms Amgen and Eli Lilly, as well as fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) major Unilever among the enterprises strengthening their presence in the city.
The Telangana government had set an objective of establishing 100 new Global Capability Centres in Hyderabad during the year. According to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the state is currently running "significantly ahead of schedule" in achieving this target, reinforcing Hyderabad's stature across the international corporate landscape.
The state government has been actively positioning Hyderabad as a major global GCC destination, with particular focus on technology, life sciences, healthcare, entertainment, and other knowledge-intensive sectors.
To support corporate infrastructure and sustained investment, the state government previously announced plans in February for a dedicated GCC zone at Bharat Future City. That project was planned with a specific emphasis on hosting global innovation centres within the biosciences sector.
State authorities are also pursuing policies to expand GCC activity well beyond Hyderabad’s core urban region. Administrative officials have been directed to formulate a comprehensive GCC policy and identify designated growth clusters along the Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Warangal corridors.
