Hundreds Gather In Attapur For ISKCON's Fifth Annual Jagannath Rath Yatra

Hundreds of devotees gathered in the Attapur locality of Hyderabad on Saturday to participate in the fifth annual Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra. The major religious festival and chariot procession was organised by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). The event brought together hundreds of devotees to participate in religious rituals, devotional music, traditional dances, and a procession pulling the sacred chariot.

The central attraction of the festival was the grand procession of a large chariot carrying the deities of Lord Jagannath, Lord Baladeva, and Goddess Subhadra. Beautifully decorated with flowers and traditional motifs, the chariot was pulled by eager devotees who chanted "Hare Krishna" and "Jai Jagannath" as they moved through the streets.

The procession officially began at the ISKCON temple in Attapur. From the temple, the chariot and the gathering of devotees passed through several major roads in the neighborhood before finally concluding the journey at the SNC Convention Centre.

Devotional music and performances filled the air throughout the day. The procession was accompanied by devotional songs, bhajans, kirtans, and traditional dances. People of all ages participated in the walk, with many children and senior citizens walking alongside the chariot. A group of volunteers worked to manage the crowds and assist with the smooth running of the event.

Before the procession started, several sacred rituals were performed at the temple earlier in the day. These rituals included the Mangal Arati, Darshan Arati, Rajbhog Arati, and special worship ceremonies. After these rituals were completed, the deities were placed onto the chariot. Senior ISKCON monks also addressed the gathering, explaining the significance of the Jagannath Rath Yatra to the devotees.

The fifth annual celebration successfully brought together hundreds of local residents and devotees to celebrate the traditional festival in Attapur.
