Hundreds Gather at Chilkalguda Eidgah for Namaz-e-Istisqa to Pray for Rain

Hundreds of Muslims gathered at the Chilkalguda Eidgah in Hyderabad on Sunday afternoon to offer Namaz-e-Istisqa, a special congregational prayer seeking divine intervention for rain amid a deficit in rainfall and rising concerns over drought-like conditions.
Worshippers braved intense heat to assemble at the Eidgah grounds for the collective prayers, which were organized in response to the dry spell and worries regarding water availability in the coming months.
The special congregational prayers were led by Maulana Syed Ziauddin, the Khateeb of Jama Masjid Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, Chilkalguda. Addressing the gathering during his sermon, the Maulana spoke about the necessity of water conservation across households and communities.
Maulana Ziauddin urged the attendees to use water judiciously, cautioning them against wasting what he described as a precious gift of God.
Following the prayers, Maulana Syed Rizwan Pasha Quadri and Abdul Samad Nizami led the congregation in a dua, or supplication, praying for relief from the prevailing dry conditions.
The logistical arrangements at the venue were supervised by Mohammad Hussain Munna, president of the Masjid and Eidgah Committee.
