HPS Ramanthapur Inducts Student Leaders and Felicitates Padma Shri Dr G V Rao

The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur, held its annual Investiture Ceremony to formally induct its newly elected student prefectorial board for the academic year. The ceremony, which took place on July 11, 2026, at the school campus, also served as an occasion to felicitate one of the institution's most distinguished alumni, Dr. G V Rao.

The event commenced with a ceremonial oath-taking ceremony. During this segment, the newly appointed student leaders—including the Head Boy, Head Girl, House Captains, Deputy Captains, and Prefects—took their solemn oaths. The members of the student prefectorial board pledged to uphold the long-standing values and traditions of the institution. They also committed to fulfilling their newly assigned responsibilities with dedication and sincerity throughout the academic year.

In addition to the induction of the student leaders, the school celebrated the achievements of its alumnus, Dr. G V Rao. Dr. Rao, who is the Director of AIG Hospitals and the Chief of Surgical Gastroenterology, was recently honoured with the Padma Shri, which is one of India’s highest civilian awards.

During his address to the students, Dr. Rao shared an inspiring message that focused on leadership and ethics. He highlighted the critical importance of key values such as discipline, compassion, perseverance, and ethical decision-making, noting that these qualities are essential in shaping the future leaders of the country.

The gathering was also addressed by other key figures of the institution. Dr. S Narsimha Reddy, the Principal of The Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur, spoke to the assembly. Additionally, Gusti J Noria, the President of the HPS Society, delivered an address to motivate the newly inducted prefectorial board as they begin their leadership journey.
