HPS Begumpet Launches Leadership Programme for Over 3,500 Students

Hyderabad Public School in Begumpet has launched a comprehensive leadership programme that places leadership development at the core of student education. The initiative reaches over 3,500 students across all grades and curricula at the campus in Begumpet, establishing one of the most extensive school-based leadership initiatives in the world.
Designed to build foundational leadership qualities from an early age, the newly introduced programme focuses on cultivating confidence, resilience, empathy, critical thinking, and decision-making among students. Alongside these core personal growth goals, the initiative incorporates structured career interactions with working professionals and school alumni.
As part of the programme's launch, the school organised the second edition of "The HPS Dialogues – Career Talks." During this event, accomplished industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and HPS alumni gathered to engage directly with more than 300 students enrolled across the ICSE, ISC, and Cambridge curricula.
Highlighting the school's vision behind embedding leadership training into regular schooling, HPS Begumpet principal Dr Skand Bali emphasized the importance of providing early opportunities for growth and reflection.
"Leadership is not a skill that begins in adulthood; it is cultivated through experiences, opportunities and reflection from an early age," Dr Skand Bali said. "At HPS, we believe every child has the potential to lead, whether in a classroom, a community or on the global stage."
