Hotel Shadab at Madina Circle Sealed Over Food Safety Violations

The Madina circle branch of Hyderabad's iconic Hotel Shadab was sealed by the Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) on Thursday, September 3. The enforcement action came a day after the authority suspended the restaurant's FSSAI licence.

The regulatory measures were initiated following recent inspections that uncovered multiple violations of food safety and hygiene norms at the eatery. Inspection teams flagged deficiencies regarding the storage and handling of meat along with other food articles on the premises.

Following these findings, TG SAFE officially suspended Hotel Shadab's FSSAI licence on Wednesday, September 2. The establishment was subsequently sealed the following day by the enforcement agency.

According to Anand Rao, Deputy Food Controller of the Food Safety Wing at TG-SAFE, the restaurant management has been granted a seven-day window to rectify all identified issues. Once the necessary corrective measures are implemented, the management can submit a formal request to the TG SAFE Commissioner seeking a re-inspection.

Officials stated that if the inspecting officer is satisfied with the compliance during the follow-up review, the restaurant's licence will be restored. However, Mr. Rao cautioned that if the violations are not resolved within the stipulated seven-day period, the department will proceed with the permanent cancellation of the FSSAI licence.
