HMWSSB Vigilance Wing Seizes 14 Illegal Water Pumps in SR Nagar Raids

The vigilance wing of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) seized 14 illegal mini submersible pump sets during early morning inspections in Bapu Nagar, SR Nagar, located in the Khairatabad Zone, on Friday.

According to a press release from the Water Board, officials carried out the special inspection drive between 6 am and 7 am, coinciding with the scheduled water distribution hours in the locality. During the operation, vigilance teams detected consumers using electric pump sets directly on supply pipelines to draw drinking water.

Officials stated that attaching motors directly to distribution pipelines severely disrupted the local supply network and reduced water pressure for neighbouring households. Action was initiated against the consumers found illegally drawing water through connected motors.

The Water Board reiterated that the unauthorised use of motors on direct supply lines impairs equitable water distribution across the network. HMWSSB warned that vigilance inspections will continue across zones to curb the practice and that violators will face strict action.
