HMWSSB announces 24-hour water cut in Karwan, Goshamahal, and other areas on July 6

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) announced a 24-hour water supply disruption starting from 6:00 AM on July 6, 2026, across several areas of Hyderabad, including Goshamahal, Karwan, Ziaguda, and Puranapul. The temporary shutdown is required to facilitate urgent maintenance and valve replacement works at the Allabanda reservoir to address leakages.
According to an official press release issued by the HMWSSB on July 4, 2026, the water board will carry out critical valve replacement works to fix major water leakages. These leakages were identified at both the inlet and the outlet of the 10-ML capacity Allabanda reservoir, which is located in the Goshamahal area.
The maintenance work is scheduled to begin at 6:00 AM on July 6, 2026. Consequently, the water supply to the connected residential and commercial areas will remain completely suspended for a full 24-hour period, with normal supply expected to be restored only after 6:00 AM on July 7, 2026.
A large number of neighborhoods will experience the disruption. The HMWSSB has identified the affected localities as Jirra, Indiranagar, Hari Darga, Kummarwadi, Tappachabutra, Akashpuri, Shibli Hills, and the areas surrounding Bilal Masjid. Residents living near Godeki Kabar, Jali, Hanuman, Jangur Basti, Abushatakia, the 2J Bus Stop, Sabzimandi, Ganganagar, Osmania, and Shivalal Nagar will also face water cuts.
Furthermore, the water supply suspension will impact Berham Galli, Gangamata, Jali Hanuman, Azam Galli, Rahimpura, Chudi Bazaar, Shankar Bazaar, Jumeraat Bazaar, and the areas surrounding Osmania Hospital. Local residents in these specified pockets are advised to store sufficient water in advance to meet their daily requirements during the 24-hour dry spell.
In its official communication, the HMWSSB appealed to all residents in the affected localities to cooperate with the water board. The utility urged citizens to use their existing water reserves carefully and avoid any wastage while the repair and replacement works are being carried out at the reservoir.
