HMRL to Upgrade 10 Stations as Pilot Project Following Begumpet Metro Inspection

Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Additional Managing Director B Ajith Reddy on Monday directed officials to prepare station-specific development plans to upgrade ten Metro stations as part of a pilot project to improve passenger services. The directive followed an inspection tour that began at Begumpet station and extended to Raidurg.

During the inspection, Ajith travelled by Metro from Begumpet to Raidurg to inspect platforms, concourses, and street-level facilities at Begumpet, Ameerpet, and Raidurg stations. He stated that similar inspections would be carried out across other stations on the network in phases.

Street-level parking facilities were a key point of review during the tour. After inspecting the parking areas at Begumpet, Ameerpet, and Raidurg stations, Ajith directed officials to utilise street-level parking more efficiently and suggested operational improvements for the three locations.

Ajith also expressed dissatisfaction over the maintenance of the central median situated between Metro pillars. He instructed officials to improve upkeep immediately and ensure that there is no compromise on cleanliness or the quality of work performed along the line.

At Raidurg station, the inspection covered the skywalk, pedestrian connectivity to nearby IT companies, and passenger movement at the Mindspace junction. Ajith directed officials to streamline arrangements during peak hours to better manage commuter traffic.
