HMRL Fast-Tracks Right of Way for Old City Metro Expansion

Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Additional Managing Director B. Ajith Reddy conducted a field inspection of the Old City Metro Rail expansion works along the corridor spanning from Darulshifa to Chandrayangutta on Saturday, directing officials across government departments to expedite their efforts to secure the Right of Way.
Accompanied by Metro Rail Chief Engineer S. Bhaskar Reddy, the official reviewed the progress of road-widening operations along the 7.5-kilometre route. During the review, he examined the progress of property acquisitions necessary for the project.
Officials noted that 833 out of the total 888 affected properties along the Darulshifa to Chandrayangutta stretch have already been acquired. Reddy discussed measures required to advance the Metro Rail route alongside the remaining 55 properties, which encompass ancient buildings and heritage structures.
Reddy also instructed authorities to accelerate the safe shifting of key utilities, such as water pipelines, electrical poles, and power lines, to ensure they do not hinder the ongoing construction and expansion.
Stressing the importance of timely execution, Reddy urged all government departments involved in the corridor's Metro works to maintain close coordination and quickly complete the necessary Right of Way clearances.
