HMDA to Install Bungee and Kids Trampolines at NTR Gardens and Lumbini Park

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has announced plans to install new bungee trampoline and kids’ trampoline attractions at NTR Gardens and Lumbini Park in Hyderabad. These popular recreational spots, situated around the Hussainsagar tourism circuit, will receive the upgrades to enhance visitor amenities and boost overall footfall.

According to officials, the new facilities at NTR Gardens will be positioned near the main entrance of the park. Meanwhile, the trampoline attractions at Lumbini Park are slated to be set up directly behind the Telangana Tourism Development Corporation (TGTDC) boating ticket counter.

The Buddha Purnima Project (BPP), an agency functioning under the HMDA, will be responsible for overseeing the project. The BPP plans to engage private operators who will be tasked with the installation, operation, and maintenance of the trampoline attractions. The contract for these private operators will span a three-year duration.

A fixed tariff structure has also been proposed for the upcoming attractions to ensure affordability for visitors. The ticket price for the bungee trampoline is set at Rs 60 per user, which will allow for a maximum of 20 bungee jumps. For the kids’ trampoline, the tariff is fixed at Rs 40 per user for a session of up to 10 minutes.

Private operators will have the flexibility to charge lower rates than the prescribed limit if they choose. However, any annual price hikes starting from the second year of operation will be strictly capped at 10 percent. Any such hike will also require prior formal approval from the BPP and HMDA.

HMDA officials expect the introduction of these active play areas to draw more families and tourists to the Hussainsagar area. Both NTR Gardens and Lumbini Park already draw significant crowds due to their existing features, which include landscaped gardens, dedicated children’s play areas, food courts, and boating facilities.
