HMDA Empowered to Issue TDR Certificates for Major Infrastructure Projects

The Telangana state government has empowered the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to issue Transferable Development Rights (TDR) certificates for land required or surrendered for HMDA projects within Greater Hyderabad limits, including major corridors starting at Paradise Junction.

According to the order, these certificates can be utilised or disposed of anywhere within the HMDA jurisdiction, subject to applicable rules.

The policy move is expected to facilitate and expedite land acquisition for major infrastructure works undertaken by the authority across the metropolitan area.

Among the key initiatives expected to benefit is the Rs 5,750-crore twin elevated corridor project. This project includes a 5.4-km corridor from Paradise Junction to Dairy Farm Road along National Highway 44 (NH-44) and an 18.10-km corridor from Paradise to Shamirpet along State Highway-1, popularly known as Rajiv Rahadari.
