Heavy Rain and Gusty Winds Forecasted Across Hyderabad and Telangana From July 3

The Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall and gusty winds across Hyderabad and several districts of Telangana starting Wednesday, July 3. The upcoming weather change is attributed to a fresh low-pressure area that is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal, bringing a significant shift in weather conditions over a seven-day period.

Prior to this forecast, the influence of El Niño, which often affects the Indian monsoon, had resulted in less rainfall across several regions this year. However, weather conditions are now expected to change. The impact of the developing low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is expected to be seen across the state of Telangana starting from Wednesday.

In response to the forecast, authorities have been instructed to remain on alert. Local officials are required to take precautionary measures, particularly in low-lying areas, to prevent potential flooding and waterlogging. The Meteorological Department has officially advised the state governments of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to take all necessary action needed to prepare for the heavy rains.

According to a report from the Telangana Weatherman, heavy rainfall is expected to hit several specific districts from the late afternoon until overnight. These districts include Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Jagtial, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, and Mulugu.

Along with the heavy to very heavy rainfall, some areas of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are also expected to experience strong, gusty winds. The Meteorological Department has warned that these winds could reach speeds of 40 to 60 kmph during the seven-day period. Both state governments and local authorities are advised to monitor the situation closely as the low-pressure system develops.
