HCA Doubles Under-16 Tournament Capacity to 240 Teams Following High Demand

The Hyderabad Cricket Association has announced an expansion of its upcoming Under-16 Inter-School & Inter-College Tournament, doubling the total team capacity from 120 to 240 teams following high demand from educational institutions across Telangana. The association confirmed that registrations will formally reopen at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Uppal.

Under the initial notification, registrations were capped at a cumulative total of 120 schools and colleges. That registration window closed after the original quota was filled. In response to the interest shown by institutions seeking to field student cricketers, cricket administrators decided to increase the overall team limit.

The tournament will follow a knockout format. According to the association, the reopened registration process begins on August 27 at 11 am and is scheduled to conclude on August 30 at 6 pm, or earlier if the maximum cap of 240 teams is reached before the deadline.

Educational institutions planning to participate have been directed to review the complete tournament guidelines and terms provided by the association ahead of completing their registration requirements.
