Harish Rao Slams Revanth Reddy Over 121 Liquor Brands Notification, Delays in Jobs

Hyderabad: Former Minister T Harish Rao criticised the Revanth Reddy government over a notification issued for 121 liquor brands, questioning the administration's delay in releasing job notifications for unemployed youth.

Harish Rao stated that lakhs of job seekers were waiting for employment opportunities while the government was moving swiftly to clear liquor-related notifications. He questioned why there was such urgency for expanding the liquor business when similar priority was not given to employment notifications.

He noted that educated youth who completed degree and post-graduation programmes were waiting for government jobs. Instead of addressing their demands, he alleged, the government was expanding liquor outlets and brands to increase state revenue.

Harish Rao also accused the government of failing to fulfil its promise of providing two lakh government jobs. He further alleged that schemes such as fee reimbursement and Rajiv Yuva Vikasam had failed to deliver results for youth in the state.

Questioning the governance model, Harish Rao asked whether issuing liquor notifications while keeping job notifications at nil represented the administration promised by Revanth Reddy.
