Harish Rao Demands Probe Into Poor-Quality Uniforms in Telangana Schools

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Legislature Party deputy leader T Harish Rao has demanded an immediate inquiry into the alleged supply of poor-quality uniforms to government school students across Telangana, challenging the Revanth Reddy-led government's claims of providing world-class education.
Harish Rao highlighted significant deficiencies in the ongoing distribution, noting that uniforms had completely failed to reach several state-run schools. In places where supplies were delivered, the garments suffered from incorrect measurements, loose stitching, and colours that faded rapidly after washing.
The BRS leader noted that although students were entitled to receive two sets of uniforms, many children had not yet received even one complete set.
Harish Rao further accused the state administration of bypassing Telangana's traditional handloom workers in favour of procuring uniforms from large corporate suppliers. He argued that local handloom units should have been prioritized to sustain local livelihoods.
Contending that the decision has harmed both students and the weaving community, Harish Rao alleged that the government has left schoolchildren with substandard uniforms while simultaneously depriving handloom workers of vital employment. He called for a thorough investigation into the state's procurement process.
