Harish Rao Criticises Revanth Reddy Over Kalyana Lakshmi and 22-A Land Row

BRS Deputy Floor Leader T Harish Rao criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the Congress government in Hyderabad on Sunday, accusing the administration of negligence in handling the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme and controversies surrounding 22-A prohibited lands.
Harish Rao stated that the state government's actions were subjecting citizens to severe hardships. He questioned why administrative officials were being made scapegoats for decisions and errors made by the Chief Minister and Cabinet Ministers.
In a post on X, the former Minister questioned the governance of the state and asked why government officials were facing punishment for mistakes committed by political leadership. He accused BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar of shifting blame onto department officials after an alleged conspiracy to halt the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak welfare schemes was exposed.
Harish Rao also targeted Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, alleging that the Minister attempted to evade accountability by offering an apology and blaming bureaucrats after irregularities involving Section 22-A restricted lands came to light.
The BRS leader noted that poor families across the state remain anxious over concerns that the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak financial assistance programmes might be discontinued. He added that numerous landowners have suffered mental distress due to complications arising from properties placed on the 22-A restricted list.
Harish Rao urged the Chief Minister to address governance failures directly rather than initiating punitive actions against lower-level staff. He demanded that the state government ensure the uninterrupted implementation of the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme and immediately clear eligible private properties across Telangana from the prohibited lands registry to restore full ownership rights to landowners.
