Hanamkonda Congress Leaders Pay Tribute to PV Narasimha Rao on 105th Birth Anniversary

HANAMKONDA — Congress leaders and district officials gathered in Hanamkonda on Sunday to mark the 105th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao. The leaders organized commemorative events and paid rich floral tributes to the late statesman, celebrating his legacy as a visionary leader who shaped modern India.

The main commemorative programme was led by Hanamkonda District Congress Committee (DCC) president Inagala Venkat Ram Reddy. The events took place at key locations in the town, including the DCC office and the JNS Stadium junction, drawing participation from local politicians, administrators, and party workers.

At the District Congress Committee office in Hanamkonda, DCC president Venkat Ram Reddy, alongside Hanamkonda West MLA Nayini Rajender Reddy and other senior leaders, hoisted the National Flag. Following the flag hoisting, the gathered leaders paid floral tributes to a portrait of the former Prime Minister.

After completing the ceremonies at the party office, the Congress leaders and supporters proceeded to the JNS Stadium junction. At the junction, they visited the statue of P.V. Narasimha Rao and offered further floral tributes to honor his memory.

Speaking during the commemorative events, the Congress leaders described P.V. Narasimha Rao as a visionary who guided the nation through an incredibly difficult economic phase. They emphasized that the crucial reforms he initiated during his tenure as Prime Minister successfully reshaped the country's economy and set it on a path of growth.

The leaders also highlighted Rao's deep roots in the region, noting that he was a native of Telangana. They praised him as an exceptional scholar who was proficient in several languages, and stated that his intellect made a significant and lasting contribution to the political and economic landscape of the entire nation.

Furthermore, the gathering welcomed the Central government's decision to confer the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, posthumously on Rao. The leaders called the prestigious award a well-deserved recognition of his monumental contributions to the country and declared it a matter of great pride for the state of Telangana.

The commemorative event was attended by Hanamkonda District Collector Chahat Bajpai, alongside Vodithela Satish Kumar, Pingili Venkat Ram Narasimha Reddy, Aziz Khan, and E.V. Srinivas Rao, among other Congress party functionaries and local supporters.
