Habitual Offender Linked to Gachibowli Cases Arrested for Miyapur Robbery

The Miyapur police have arrested a habitual offender, who has prior property offence cases registered against him in Gachibowli, for allegedly assaulting and robbing a delivery executive during a late-night attack. The suspect, identified as Basodi Abhishek, was apprehended by the police following the incident, which took place near Shilpa Avenue Colony in Gopal Rao Nagar, Miyapur.
According to the police, the victim was on his way to deliver an order near Road No. 18 in Gopal Rao Nagar when the confrontation occurred. Two men riding on a scooter intercepted the delivery executive. The duo then allegedly assaulted the victim, threatened to kill him, and forced him to unlock his mobile phone.
Once they gained access to the phone, the accused transferred Rs 900 from the victim's bank account to their own account using a mobile banking application. In addition to the digital transfer, the attackers robbed the delivery executive of Rs 5,000 in cash before fleeing the spot on their scooter.
Following a police investigation into the robbery, the Miyapur police successfully tracked down and arrested Abhishek. Upon his arrest, officers recovered Rs 400 in cash from his possession.
Police investigations revealed that Abhishek is a habitual offender who, along with his unidentified associate, specifically targeted people travelling alone at night in isolated areas across the Cyberabad Commissionerate. The accused has been linked to several property offences registered at multiple police stations in the region, including Gachibowli, Madhuranagar, Miyapur, and Jubilee Hills.
Following the arrest, the police issued a safety advisory to help protect citizens travelling during late hours. Authorities have advised the public to remain highly cautious while travelling at night, to avoid deserted routes whenever possible, and to immediately report any suspicious individuals or vehicles to the police.
