H-FAST Raids Hyderabad Sweet and Biscuit Units Over Hygiene Violations

The Hyderabad Food Safety Task Force (H-FAST) has conducted raids on sweet and biscuit manufacturing units in Hyderabad, uncovering major food safety violations, including pest infestations and unhygienic conditions.

The inspections were carried out by H-FAST officials alongside Food Safety Officer Dyvanidhi. The joint team targeted facilities that manufacture popular confectionery and bakery items, such as sweets, cakes, cookies, and Osmania biscuits.

During the course of the raids, the food safety officers detected severe lapses in basic sanitation and overall hygiene at the manufacturing sites. In addition to the poor sanitary conditions, the inspection team found active pest infestations within the production areas where the food items were being prepared.

Officials stated that the conditions observed at these units violated standard food safety guidelines. The team flagged the specific lapses in sanitation and documented the unhygienic environments at each of the inspected locations.

Following the inspections, authorities confirmed that official action has been initiated against the violating sweet and biscuit manufacturing units. This action is being taken in accordance with established food safety norms and regulations to address the identified sanitation issues.

H-FAST officials indicated that these raids are part of a broader effort to regulate food safety standards in the city. To ensure widespread compliance with health and hygiene laws, the task force plans to conduct further inspections at similar manufacturing establishments across Hyderabad.

The authorities have emphasized the importance of maintaining clean production environments, especially for units producing high-demand items like Osmania biscuits and sweets. The upcoming inspections will continue to target manufacturing units to ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed by the producers.
