Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 Works to Begin in September, Says Sridhar Babu

Works for the Godavari Pushkaralu–2027 will commence in the first week of September, IT and Industries Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Sub-Committee Duddilla Sridhar Babu instructed officials during a review meeting held at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat in Hyderabad on Friday.

Sridhar Babu directed officials to complete the tendering process by the end of August to ensure that all development works begin on schedule. The Telangana state government has allocated Rs 1,000 crore for the conduct of the Godavari Pushkaralu.

To manage the anticipated rush of pilgrims, the minister directed the administration to appoint special officers for tier-I locations expecting heavy footfall. Dedicated command and control centres will also be established at key locations across the event areas.

Stressing adherence to timelines, Sridhar Babu stated that there must be no compromise on the quality of works. Senior officials from concerned departments were directed to conduct regular field inspections and closely monitor ground progress. He also instructed the Endowments department to launch a dedicated dashboard for daily monitoring of the works to track implementation against deadlines.

Emphasising inter-departmental coordination, Sridhar Babu noted that all departments must work closely so devotees face no inconvenience. He instructed officials to ensure seamless road connectivity to all major Pushkaralu locations, directing that any connectivity gaps be identified immediately and addressed using local funds.

The minister also called for the involvement of local public representatives, District Collectors, Superintendents of Police, senior district officials, and priests in the preparations. He added that voluntary and private organisations willing to provide services to devotees should be identified well in advance, warning that lapses or negligence in preparations would invite action.

Ministers Konda Surekha, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Ponnam Prabhakar, Seethakka, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Vivek Venkataswamy, and Adluri Laxman Kumar, along with State Government Adviser P. Sudarshan Reddy, participated in the meeting.
