Global Universities Plan Hyderabad Presence Under Knowledge Hub Initiative

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced that leading international institutions, including the University of London and Northeastern University, are set to establish offshore campuses in Hyderabad as part of the state government's initiative to transform the city into a Global Knowledge Hub.

Expressing satisfaction over the positive reception to the state's educational vision, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that his primary passion and contribution toward the youth lies in advancing skills, sports, and education. He emphasised that these initiatives are designed to ensure young people in Telangana become highly qualified to meet global challenges.

As part of these global educational engagements, the University of London from the United Kingdom and Northeastern University based in Boston, United States, are preparing to set up their offshore campuses directly in Hyderabad.

In addition to the planned university campuses, Harvard University and several of its affiliated schools have expressed keen interest in offering select programs and specialised courses in Telangana.

The Chief Minister noted that official discussions held with other prestigious British institutions have also yielded positive outcomes. These included meetings with the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS London), Imperial College, London Business School (LBS), and the London School of Economics (LSE).

Similar meetings conducted with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and several other Ivy League and American schools have also progressed positively. These collaborations aim to enable youth across Telangana to access education from premier global institutions right in Hyderabad.

Revanth Reddy outlined that the overall vision includes offering educational courses, certification programs, shared research, establishing centres of excellence, and running programs tailored for professionals from various walks of life, with the goal of establishing Hyderabad as a global educational powerhouse.
