GHMC Collects Puja Waste Across 29 Temples Under Project Udvasana

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Saturday conducted 'Project Udvasana', a specialized collection drive for puja material waste organized across 29 temples in Hyderabad, including locations in Sanathnagar and the Ameerpet circle.

GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan personally monitored the implementation of the initiative at seven temples across the Sanathnagar and Ameerpet areas, and took part in the Udhvasana puja proceedings during the inspection.

The civic body stated that the drive received a positive response from citizens, who came forward to deposit old photo frames, idols, calendars, and other sacred items to ensure they were handled and processed with respect.

At all 29 participating temples, volunteers managed the dismantling of the handed-over items and segregated the materials according to their type. Following the on-site sorting, all segregated recyclables will be transported to a recycling facility.
