GHMC Begins Ganesh Chaturthi Preparations Along Balapur to Tank Bund Route

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has initiated preparations for the smooth conduct of the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festivities, reviewing logistical and civic arrangements across the city, including the primary procession route from Balapur to Tank Bund.
A inter-departmental coordination meeting was conducted at the GHMC Head Office on Monday. The session was chaired by GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan and attended by senior officials of the civic body, alongside representatives from various government departments, agencies, and the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi.
During the meeting, Commissioner Karnan stated that civic works such as sanitation, road repairs, crane positioning at designated immersion points, barricading, illumination, and parking facilities would be completed well in advance of the festival. He assured the members of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi of full institutional support and inter-departmental cooperation from the municipal corporation throughout the celebration period.
The review focused extensively on the main immersion procession corridor stretching from Balapur to Tank Bund. Civic officials examined plans for deploying specialised Ganesh Action Teams, mobilising additional sanitation manpower, and deploying necessary machinery along the procession pathways. Plans were also reviewed to ensure the setup of mobile toilets and the provision of drinking water facilities at immersion locations.
Authorities directed field officials to execute pending tree pruning, street lighting improvements, and road repair works on high priority before the commencement of the events.
To ensure effective management during the procession and immersion ceremonies, inter-agency coordination between the police department, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), and other civic line departments will be strengthened through a central control room setup.
