Gaurav Reddy Smashes 47-Ball Century as Anurag Nalgonda Knights Beat Medak Falcons

On Friday, opener Gaurav Reddy smashed a blistering unbeaten century off just 47 balls to power the Anurag Nalgonda Knights to a dominant eight-wicket victory over the Medak Falcons in a TG20 League match at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad. The win moved the Knights to second place in the tournament standings, while Reddy was named the player of the match for his match-winning performance.

Batting first, the Medak Falcons posted a competitive total of 180 for four in their allotted 20 overs. Opener Shrunjith Reddy made a quickfire 30 off 17 balls, hitting three boundaries and two sixes, while captain T. Ravi Teja contributed 33 off 22 balls, which included two boundaries and three sixes at the top of the order.

The Falcons' innings was propped up by an unbeaten fifth-wicket partnership of 91 runs between Vikram Naik and Varun Yerram. Naik scored 48 not out off 31 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes. Yerram remained unbeaten on 44 off 29 balls with two boundaries and a six to help the Falcons set a challenging target.

However, the target of 181 proved inadequate against Gaurav Reddy's explosive batting display. Reddy struck six boundaries and nine sixes in his unbeaten knock of 101 runs.

Reddy and his opening partner Jashwath Mote gave the Knights a flying start, putting on an 83-run partnership in just 6.4 overs. Mote scored 34 off 21 balls, hitting three boundaries and one six, before being dismissed.

Following Mote's departure and the subsequent dismissal of P. Nitish Reddy for 21 off 17 balls, Gaurav Reddy teamed up with captain Rahul Buddhi to guide the team home. Buddhi finished unbeaten on 20 off 14 balls, hitting two boundaries, as the Knights comfortably chased down the target, reaching 181 for two in 16.3 overs.

With this victory, the Anurag Nalgonda Knights have secured eight points from six matches, placing them second in the TG20 League table. They trail the table-toppers, Hyderabad E-Champions, who lead the tournament with 10 points from five matches.
