Ganesh Utsav Samithi Seeks Aid for Festival Accident Victims in Telangana

The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi (BGUS) on Saturday commended Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar for ensuring the smooth conduct of the Ganesh festival in Hyderabad and across Telangana, while appealing to the state government to provide financial compensation and medical assistance to victims of festival-related accidents.

Speaking in Hyderabad on Saturday, Samithi General Secretary Dr. Ravinuthala Shashidhar extended special thanks to Minister Ponnam Prabhakar for his exemplary leadership in coordinating various government departments and extending outstanding cooperation. He noted that this administrative coordination helped ensure the smooth, peaceful, and orderly conduct of the 47th Samuhik Ganesh Utsav celebrations throughout Bhagyanagar and the entire state this year.

However, the samithi voiced deep concern and sorrow over several tragic incidents that occurred during the course of the celebrations. Dr. Shashidhar stated that while the festivities were celebrated with immense religious fervour across the state, it was deeply agonizing that several unfortunate accidents occurred, resulting in the loss of precious human lives and causing severe injuries to many devotees.

In light of these tragic events, the samithi made an earnest appeal to the Telangana government to kindly consider its requests on humanitarian grounds. Dr. Shashidhar urged the authorities to step forward and provide comprehensive financial assistance as well as all necessary support from the government to the families of devotees who lost their lives in various festival-related accidents statewide.

In addition to aiding the families of the deceased, the samithi appealed for comprehensive medical and financial intervention for injured participants. Dr. Shashidhar requested the government to ensure complete and quality medical treatment for all devotees injured in these festival-related accidents, along with continuous financial aid until they achieve full recovery.

Finally, Dr. Shashidhar requested Minister Ponnam Prabhakar to personally take the matter to the notice of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. He emphasized the urgent need to ensure swift relief and necessary assistance to all affected families during this painful time.
