Gachibowli Police Rescue Two Minor Children in Four Hours, Arrest Kidnapper

The Gachibowli police cracked a kidnapping case within four hours of receiving a complaint, safely rescuing two minor children aged under four years and arresting a suspect near Ghatkesar railway station during the early hours of Tuesday.

The police received a complaint around 2 am on Tuesday from Devid Murmu, a labourer residing at a labour camp in Kondapur. Murmu reported that his daughter and another labourer's daughter were playing in the camp around 4 pm on Monday when another camp resident, identified as Chaku Soren, allegedly took both children and fled the premises.

Following the complaint, Gachibowli police registered a case and formed special teams to track down the missing children. Information regarding the suspect and the children was circulated to various police stations and railway authorities. Alerts were sent to law and order police stations and railway points along routes heading towards Kolkata, specifically covering Ghatkesar, Jangaon, and Kazipet stations, while dedicated teams checked potential transit points.

Technical investigation and field search efforts led investigators to trace Soren's location near the Ghatkesar railway station. Coordinated action between the Gachibowli police, Ghatkesar police, and railway personnel led to the swift apprehension of Soren, a native of West Bengal, and the secure recovery of both children.

The two children were brought to the Gachibowli police station and subsequently handed over to their parents and guardians.

During interrogation, Soren disclosed that he had previous criminal records in West Bengal, including cases of attempt to murder and rape registered at the Karandighi police station. He also revealed that he had served five years of imprisonment at Islampur Jail in West Bengal.

Soren further admitted to kidnapping individuals to sell them for monetary gain, allegedly for use in begging. Police are interrogating the suspect and verifying his antecedents to identify any additional criminal involvement.
