Gachibowli Police Arrest Former UoH Student Biswajit Kalita in Drug Supply Case

In a joint operation conducted on the campus of the University of Hyderabad in Gachibowli, officers from the Gachibowli Police Station and the Eagle Team apprehended a 28-year-old former university student in connection with a drug supply case. The suspect, identified by law enforcement as Biswajit Kalita, who also goes by the alias Biswa, was nabbed on Tuesday after officers seized five grams of marijuana from his possession.
Biswa is a former student of the University of Hyderabad who currently resides in nearby Gopanpally and works as an actor trainer. Law enforcement officials revealed that prior to his arrest on Tuesday, he was absconding in a drug case previously registered against him at the Gachibowli Police Station.
The police investigation originally began after a case was formally registered on August 7, 2026. Law enforcement authorities initiated the matter after receiving credible information regarding illegal drug consumption taking place inside the Men’s-L Hostel on the University of Hyderabad campus in Gachibowli.
During the course of the police probe into the hostel incident, an enrolled student disclosed critical details during questioning by investigators. The student allegedly informed officers that he had purchased 10 grams of dried ganja for Rs 500 from his friend, Biswa, pointing to the former student as his source.
Armed with this information, the Gachibowli Police along with the Eagle Team tracked Biswa to determine his whereabouts. The officers traced him back to the University of Hyderabad campus on Tuesday, where they intercepted and nabbed him.
Upon apprehending Biswa on the campus grounds on Tuesday, law enforcement officers recovered and officially seized five grams of marijuana from his possession as part of the evidence in the ongoing drug supply case.
With the former student now in custody, the Gachibowli Police are continuing their probe into the illegal drug distribution. Investigators are currently examining the original source of the ganja supply and are working to determine whether other individuals are involved in the local network.
