G. Kishan Reddy to Lead BJP Singareni Bharosa Yatra on June 13

The Bharatiya Party (BJP) announced in Hyderabad on Saturday that it will launch the 'Singareni Bharosa' Yatra on June 13 and 14 to engage with coal mine workers and highlight alleged irregularities within the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). The two-day campaign is aimed at addressing the grievances of the workforce and strengthening the party's political presence in the region's coal belt.
The campaign will feature high-profile participation, including Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy and BJP State President N. Ramchander Rao. Alongside other party leaders, they are scheduled to tour key coal belt areas across four districts, specifically covering Kothagudem, Manuguru, Bhupalpally, and Tadicherla.
During the tour, BJP leaders plan to interact directly with both permanent coal workers and contract staff employed by the SCCL. The party intends to use these interactions to hear firsthand accounts of workers' issues and to discuss the alleged irregularities within the public sector coal mining company.
In addition to addressing worker grievances, the BJP stated that the yatra serves to highlight the central government's recent developmental initiatives for the sector. Specifically, the party pointed to the Centre’s recent allocation of the Tadicherla-II coal block to the SCCL. The BJP has described this allocation as a crucial development that is expected to boost the company's revenue and generate new employment opportunities in the state.
The upcoming yatra follows earlier political friction in the region. A previously planned yatra by BJP legislators, which was led by Assembly floor leader A. Maheshwar Reddy, resulted in political tension. That previous effort was halted by the police at the Srirampur open-cast and SRP-3 mines, preventing the legislators from completing their scheduled program. The BJP now seeks to resume its outreach with this newly announced two-day tour.
