Four South Central Railway Employees Selected for 20th Asian Games in Japan

Four South Central Railway (SCR) employees working across offices in Secunderabad, Lallaguda, and Mettuguda have been selected to represent India in kabaddi at the upcoming 20th Asian Games in Japan.
The 20th Asian Games will take place from September 21 to September 26 in Tokyo, Japan. The international multi-sport event is scheduled to feature 43 sports and bring together athletes representing 45 countries.
Among the selected players from the railway zone is Ritu Negi, who works as an office superintendent in the senior material manager’s office at the electric locoshed in Lallaguda. Negi previously represented India at both the 2018 and 2023 Asian Games.
Also selected is Pinky Roy, who is posted at the chief workshop manager’s office in Mettuguda. Roy took up kabaddi during her school years in 2008-09 after her sports teacher noticed her potential and encouraged her to pursue the sport. As a railway sportsperson, she has balanced official workplace responsibilities with intensive training routines.
The other two players selected from the zone are Ayan Lohchab and Sumit Sangwan. Both serve as commercial-cum-ticket clerks at the senior divisional commercial manager’s office in Secunderabad.
This marks the first time that three SCR employees will don the India jersey together in kabaddi at the Asian Games tournament alongside veteran player Negi.
