Four SCR Kabaddi Players Selected for 2026 Asian Games in Japan

Four kabaddi players from the Hyderabad-headquartered South Central Railway (SCR) have been selected to represent India at the 2026 Asian Games, scheduled to take place in Japan from September 19 to October 4.
The selected contingent includes two women, Ritu Negi and Pinky Roy, and two men, Avan Lohchab and Sumit Sangwan. All four will feature in the respective 12-member Indian men's and women's national kabaddi squads.
The kabaddi tournament at the Games will be held from September 21 to September 26 at the Tōkai Citizens Gymnasium in Tōkai, located in Japan's Aichi Prefecture.
Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager of South Central Railway, congratulated the athletes on their selection following the announcement.
"The selection of four SCR kabaddi players for the Indian contingent is a matter of great pride for South Central Railway in particular and Indian Railways in general. It also reflects SCR’s continued commitment to promoting sports and nurturing talent among its employees," Srivastava stated in an official release.
He expressed confidence in the players' upcoming performances on the international stage, commending their hard work and contributions to the sport.
