Four of Family Drown After Car Plunges into Open Well in Dubbak Mandal

A couple and their two young children died after their car veered off the road and plunged into an open roadside well at Appanapalli village in Dubbak mandal late on Wednesday night.

The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Dandugula Raju, a sand trader from Balwanthapur, his 25-year-old wife Bhagya, their four-year-old son Nihan, and their two-year-old daughter Shanvika. All four occupants drowned in the submerged vehicle.

According to Dubbak Sub-Inspector K Kerthiraju, Raju had travelled with his wife and children to Siddipet to attend a relative's 10th-day death ceremony. Following the programme, the family began their return journey to Balwanthapur in their car.

While the vehicle was passing through the outskirts of Appanapalli village, it went out of control, veered off the road, and fell directly into an open well situated along the roadside.

Relatives grew concerned when Raju and his family failed to reach home late into the night. After family members alerted the police, personnel launched a search operation to trace the missing vehicle. Police officers tracked the mobile phone signal of the victims, which led them to the outskirts of Appanapalli where the car was discovered inside the well.
