Four Mailardevpally godown workers arrested for murder of unidentified man

Four godown workers were arrested on Saturday for allegedly murdering an unidentified man who entered their workplace premises in Pallecheruvu, Mailardevpally. The fatal confrontation occurred in the early hours of June 25 at the Swastik Shiva Decorators tenthouse company godown in Hyderabad, where the victim was assaulted and confined.

The four arrested workers have been identified as 39-year-old Balaji from Bidar in Karnataka, 23-year-old Nayan Mandal and 35-year-old Uttam Bera, both from West Bengal, and 26-year-old Prem Parihar from Bahadurpura. The men were accommodated in the workers' quarters located on the godown premises.

According to the police, the incident began around 2:00 AM on June 25 when the workers spotted a stranger moving around the godown. The unidentified man, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, had entered the premises and was moving in a suspicious manner.

The four workers intercepted the man and demanded to know why he was there. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Rajendranagar, S Srinivas, stated that the man failed to provide a satisfactory response to their questions and became aggressive.

In response, the four workers assaulted the man and locked him inside the kitchen of the godown. The victim subsequently died of his injuries while confined in the kitchen.

After realizing the man had died, the workers informed their employer about the incident. The employer then approached the Mailardevpally police on the morning of June 25 to report the matter.

Upon receiving the information, the Mailardevpally police reached the spot and shifted the victim's body to a hospital for a post-mortem examination. The police initially registered a case against the four labourers under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to murder.

On Saturday, police officers arrested the four accused workers directly from the godown. They were produced before a local magistrate and have been remanded in judicial custody as the investigation continues.
