Four Arrested in Nalgonda for Murdering Family of Four Over Debt and Revenge

The Nalgonda police have arrested four suspects, including a Hyderabad-based car driver, in connection with the murder of four members of a family in Nalgonda district. The crime, which was motivated by robbery, the theft of gold ornaments, and revenge, was discovered on June 22 after neighbours alerted the authorities about a foul smell emanating from the victims' residence.

According to a release by the Nalgonda police, the prime accused has been identified as Syed Aslam, a close relative of the victims. Investigators stated that Aslam meticulously planned the killings after watching online videos on how to commit murder.

Police officials revealed that Aslam was struggling with mounting debts and financial difficulties, which investigators attributed to his lavish lifestyle and multiple loans. In an attempt to resolve his financial crisis, Aslam allegedly targeted his relative, Haseena, for robbery.

Aslam had previously borrowed Rs 1 lakh from Haseena, who was his wife's aunt. Haseena, who was married for the third time, lived in the house with her husband and his children from a previous marriage.

The tension between the relatives escalated when Aslam recently approached Haseena to ask for an additional loan of Rs 1 lakh to purchase a new car. Haseena refused the request and reportedly taunted Aslam for his failure to pay the interest on the initial Rs 1 lakh loan he had borrowed earlier.

Investigators also discovered that Aslam's wife, Tabassum, harboured a deep grudge against Haseena. This resentment was linked to a past dispute in which Haseena's first husband had filed a formal police complaint against Tabassum's mother.

Following the discovery of the bodies on June 22, the police launched an investigation that led to the arrest of Aslam and three other suspects. All four individuals are currently in custody as police continue their proceedings.
