Four Arrested in Balanagar Ganja Raid After Clash with EAGLE Police

Four persons, including a repeat offender, were arrested by the EAGLE police in Balanagar on Thursday following a dramatic confrontation during a drug raid. Officers seized 14 kg of ganja and an airgun from the possession of the accused.

Three of the arrested individuals were identified as brothers Durga Prasad, B Kiran, and B Kamalakar, natives of Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh. Police stated that the trio had been residing in an independent house in Balanagar for the past several months.

The enforcement operation was launched after police questioned a drug user and secured leads regarding the source of the contraband. Investigators traced the distribution trail to the residential premises in Balanagar and dispatched the EAGLE team to the spot.

Upon encountering the police team, the accused released a dog to threaten the personnel. As officers moved in to apprehend two suspects, Kamalakar grabbed a screwdriver and attacked an inspector.

Alerted by the commotion, Kiran ran down from the terrace, pushed the officers, and leaped onto a neighbouring building. After reaching the third floor of the adjacent structure, he snatched a mobile phone from a resident and began recording a selfie video while threatening to jump.
