Former India Football Captain Shabbir Ali Honoured with National Excellence Award

Former India football captain Shabbir Ali was honoured with the Well Care India Social Welfare Foundation national excellence award in Hyderabad on Sunday for his contributions to the game.

Dr. Jawad, Chairman of Germanten Hospital, attended the event as the chief guest and presented the memento to the veteran football icon.

Speaking on the occasion, Shabbir Ali expressed his gratitude to the organisers and reaffirmed his commitment to developing the sport at both regional and national levels.

“This is in recognition of my services to Telangana football in particular and Indian football in general. I am truly indebted to the organisation and I take this opportunity to continue to serve the game with the same commitment and passion,” Shabbir Ali said.

He also extended his appreciation to the foundation's leadership during the ceremony.

“My sincere thanks to Mr. Hamed Hussain, Medical Officer, and the entire Well Care team for this honour and recognition. Proud to serve football and contribute to society,” he added.
