Former IAS Officer's Son Detained by Mangalhat Police in Hyderabad Drug Case

The Mangalhat police in Hyderabad have detained the son of a former IAS officer in connection with an active drug case. The detention was carried out by the local police following intelligence indicating that the suspect was allegedly maintaining links with drug smugglers.

The suspect's father is a former bureaucrat who previously served in the erstwhile Medak district for a long duration. After his tenure as an IAS officer, he entered politics, joining the state's current Opposition party during its tenure in power. He subsequently became a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC).

During his tenure as a civil servant in the erstwhile Medak district, the former IAS officer played a crucial role in state projects. Specifically, he was involved in acquiring land from innocent farmers to facilitate the completion of these projects.

The Mangalhat police initiated the detention based on specific information linking the MLC's son to drug smugglers. As the investigation is in its early stages, law enforcement authorities in Hyderabad have stated that further details regarding the case are still awaited.
