Food Safety Notices Issued to Babai Hotel, Ideal Kitchen Over Hygiene Lapses

Food safety officials from the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation have issued separate notices to Babai Hotel in Madinaguda and Ideal Kitchen in Beeramguda after inspections uncovered multiple hygiene violations, improper storage practices, and poor maintenance.
During the inspection at Babai Hotel in Madinaguda, the food safety team observed that semi-prepared food items, including poori and poornam, were stored without labels. The kitchen's exhaust system was found to be greasy and required cleaning, while food waste had been left uncleared in the drains. Officials also reported broken flooring across several areas of the kitchen.
In addition to structural issues, the establishment failed to provide medical records for its food handlers as well as required food testing records. In the dishwashing area, uneven flooring was found to be causing water stagnation and generating foul odours.
A separate inspection at Ideal Kitchen in Beeramguda revealed that the kitchen space was small, congested, and inadequately cleaned. Officials noted that semi-prepared batters and chutneys were kept stored in close proximity to a brooming stick. Multiple prepared rice items, including sambar rice, lemon rice, pulihora, and mudda pappu-avakaya, were left kept open without covering.
The inspection team also detected the use of artificial food colours on the premises, which officials discarded on the spot. Batters were found without proper labeling. The establishment could not produce medical records, pest control documentation, water testing reports, food testing records, or packaging records.
The grinding area at the Beeramguda establishment also had broken flooring and an open drain, leading to water stagnation and odour. The kitchen exhausts were similarly found to be unclean.
Following the findings, officials stated that separate notices were served to both eateries with explicit directions to rectify the identified deficiencies and improve overall food safety and hygiene standards.
